EMDR:

How to Ignite Your Emotional Restoration and Resilience

289765856 EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) can help clients experiencing trauma or anxiety by facilitating the reprocessing of distressing memories, reducing their emotional charge, and enabling individuals to develop healthier coping mechanisms and emotional resilience. But how do you know if this technique is right for YOU?

The pain hijacks your mind.

The mental replay of the past distracts you from work and the people who matter to you.

You wake up worrying about what will happen next.

You want to make progress and experience peace at work and connectedness in your relationships, but you feel stuck.

Do you wish you could just get over it and move on?

Part of you feels this isn’t fair. However, the other part tells you it’s all your fault.

So, you go about your day, keeping that guard up, alert, fearful, and you return to bed feeling no better than when you woke up.

You begin to wonder if things will ever be okay.

EMDR can help with anxiety and trauma.

In treatments such as Exposure Therapy or Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, you will find yourself talking in detail about the negative experiences in your past. However, this can cause you to re-experience that pain. Instead, in EMDR you will contemplate the stressors to yourself as I guide you through calming movements meant to stimulate both hemispheres of your brain.

Did you know that EMDR has an official international organization dedicated to training competent and compassionate EMDR therapists? You may also learn more about the many benefits of incorporating EMDR by reading my blogs by clicking here.

In short, your brain naturally knows how to heal the stress and trauma plaguing you.

The theory goes that during sleep, the left-right eye movements we make store memories in your brain. In other words, you file that memory away; think about saving documents on a computer. Thus, by stimulating these left-right movements with your eyes or your fingers while processing difficult, traumatic memories or anxieties in therapy, EMDR can re-open those saved mind-documents and edit the code to decrease their painful effect in your present daily life!

Your brain already wants to heal these pain points. EMDR just helps open up the mind to allow it to heal. Therefore, your only task is to show up. From there, I will help you tap into the power you already have.

EMDR therapy is efficient… and permanent!

After EMDR therapy, most clients describe the healed memories as events from the past that no longer hold weight.

You won’t forget what happened. However, it won’t define who you are anymore. Your negative self-talk will fade into the background. Then, you’ll have more peace than you ever imagined.

Most importantly, you’ll leave energized to take back control of your life.

The time to heal is now.

You deserve to live an authentic self.

Let’s work through the fear together and set your mind free from past stress.
